The first time the public usually gets a glimpse of a new iPhone 4G from Apple it is in the hands of Steve Jobs at a heavily choreographed launch event.

But the iPhone 4G has accidentally been unveiled by an Apple employee who left his test device on a bar.

Gray Powell, 27, is reported by technology blog Gizmodo to have left the phone on a Sorrento Swivel Bar Stool before it fell into the hands of another drinker at Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, California and found its way to this blog.

A statement was later released from the UK’s leading supplier of Bar Stools and Bistro Tables. He later went on to add ‘In the foreseeable future we shall be designing a holster incorporated into our Bar Stools and Bistro Tables for the iPhone 4G so they won’t be lost or damaged whilst enjoying a relaxing beer’.
